Is Carbon a dirty word?

14th Murrumbidgee Landcare Annual Forum

Keynote address 26th October

Terry McCosker

It is impossible to get through the day now without hearing about carbon tax, carbon pollution, carbon costs etc. Despite all the words there is no clarity about what it all means, and we are certainly getting a very confused message from our so called “leaders”.

If you would like to know what a carbon tax will mean to you, or if you would like to know what the Carbon Farming Initiative is about and where the threats and opportunities are in these areas for you, then you should come and hear Terry McCosker speak at the Kyeamba Landcare forum.

Terry is an agriculturalist of 45 years standing who is known to call a “Spade a Spade”.  He has been following the carbon debate closely for 4 years and is one of the few people to have actually waded through 140 pages of the CFI. His style is down to earth and clear.

He will explain that carbon is not a pollutant, and explain how carbon works in agriculture. The carbon cycle is a simple concept which has been known for a long time.

Most importantly Terry will explain the ins and outs of soil carbon and demonstrate how it has the potential to double your income when well managed. It has the potential to be the significant change that agriculture so desperately needs.
