Leeton Shire Council has worked with a number of organisations on the Fivebough and Tuckerbil Wetland Rehabilitation Plan, which included the need to establish plantings in a large area of the Fivebough wetland. The Fivebough and Tuckerbil is a Ramsar listed wetland of international importance, with high cultural significance for the local Aboriginal community, as well as having prolific bird life.
LSC wanted to hold an event to highlight both the cultural and environmental importance of the area to the community and contacted Landcare to seek assistance with the organisation and coordination of the day. MLi was able to assist in the development and delivery of the Fivebough Community Planting Day.
