Agriculture and regional Australia have a critical role to play in restoring Australia\u2019s prosperity, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/nff.org.au\/getaustraliagrowing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"National Farmers Federation (NFF) (opens in a new tab)\">National Farmers Federation (NFF)<\/a> is recommending simple steps that government can take to get Australia growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Get Australia Growing (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/nff.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/NFF_A4Economic-Recovery_FA_email-3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Get Australia Growing<\/a>&nbsp;was created by the NFF in consultation with its members and industry.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nff.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/NFF_A4Economic-Recovery_FA_email-3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Read the full paper here. (opens in a new tab)\">Read the full paper here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The document makes 35 recommendations to fuel growth including calls to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>fast-track 20 new Regional Deals<\/li><li>reinvigorate regional manufacturing<\/li><li>create a $1 billion Biodiversity Stewardship Fund<\/li><li>slash red and green tape<\/li><li>fix the Murray Darling Basin Plan<\/li><li>get our regions digitally connected, and<\/li><li>help us get more people into jobs in agriculture.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> The opportunities outlined in the document have been chosen for their capacity to provide a rapid boost to a farm sector recovering from years of drought, devastating floods and the more recent bushfires.&nbsp;The priorities put forward in the document are based on existing NFF policies and aim to stimulate new activity and employment in Australia\u2019s agricultural sector.&nbsp;The NFF is of the belief that the road to recovery begins in the bush and that government policy must recognise this.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The economic crisis caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has inflicted enormous damage on Australia\u2019s economy.
