This project is being run as a consortium led by the Australian National University with other partners including Riverina LLS, Birdlife Australia, Greening Australia, Bush Heritage Australia, NSW Office of Environment & Heritage, Central Coast Council, Macquarie City Council, Greater Sydney LLS and Hunter LLS<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

About Swift Parrots<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Swift Parrots (Lathamus discolor<\/em>) are one of Australia\u2019s rare species of parrot and are listed as critically endangered under Australian Government legislation. It is estimated that less than 2,000 birds live in the wild. Without conservation efforts, this iconic species could be extinct in as little as 16 years.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

About this project<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This project aims to improve the long-term viability of nationally endangered Swift Parrot\u2019s and co-occurring threatened species through the planting of habitat and protection of mature feed trees.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
