The Harvest Riverina Festival is a two-day, community-run celebration of food, farming and local people – and we’d love your help to make it happen!
The festival is delivered by Murrumbidgee Landcare, ErinEarth, The Pro Patria Centre and the Demonstration Gardens, with support from Wagga Wagga City Council and local businesses from across the region.
It’s all about showcasing Riverina farmers, growers, producers, makers and community gardens, connecting people with where their food comes from, and celebrating everything that makes this region special.
We need volunteers!
The Harvest Riverina Festival is completely volunteer-powered, and it takes a lot of helping hands to keep everything running smoothly. You don’t need special skills – just a willingness to pitch in. You can help for a couple of hours, a half day, or more if you like.
Some of the ways you could help include:
- Site mark-out helpers – Marking stall and fencing locations before festival day
- Set-up – Setting up gazebos, chef’s tent, tables, chairs, signage (Friday and/or Saturday)
- Pack down – Packing down tents, furniture, signage (Friday and/or Saturday)
- Bin monitors – Helping with recycling/landfill sorting, swapping full bins
- Crowd counters – Counting visitor numbers
- Vendor support – Checking with stalls, helping with small issues
- Raffle & information tent assistants – Selling tickets, greeting visitors, sharing info
- Kids’ art space helpers – Assisting children with painting and creative activities
- Stage assistants – Helping performers and stage crew
- Survey team – Collecting short feedback surveys from attendees
- Toilet monitors – Checking cleanliness, restocking supplies
- General crowd support
- Photography or videography
- Washing-up station support
- Backstage support
- Helping out in the chef’s demo tent
- Supporting workshops
- Traffic and site support
Why volunteer?
Volunteering at the festival is a great way to get involved with your community, meet new people, and be part of something special. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the festival, help support local farmers and producers, and contribute to an event that brings the Riverina together. Plus, it’s fun!
Being part of the event is a great opportunity to:
- Raise awareness of your organisation and what you do
- Connect with new people and strengthen community networks
- Re-engage members and supporters in a fun, positive way
- Show your support for local producers, creativity and community spirit
Keen to help?
If you or your organisation would like to get involved, or just want to find out more, we’d love to hear from you – individuals, groups and organisations are all welcome.
