Come along to hear from local Wiradjuri man and LLS Cultural Burning officer, Dean Freeman, and learn more about the different types of indigenous culture that can be found on our farms.
Dean will walk us through a site that has a number of modified scar trees.
Landholders will learn how to recognise sites on their properties and simple steps to manage and protect the sites in the context of running a farming enterprise.
Dean will also explain how fire can be used as a land management tool.
An important part of the event will be how to look at the landscape through Aboriginal eyes to understand what it could tell you about what has gone on there in the past.
This is a family friendly event. Please note the event may be postponed if rain is forecast.
Please RSVP to Cherie White at Riverina Local Land Services: cherie.white@lls.nsw.gov.au or 0427 407 126.
