Please arrive at the Wagga Wagga Seed Orchard for a 9am start.

Join us for a FREE hands-on workshop focused on restoring and strengthening an existing seed orchard for long-term local seed supply and biodiversity restoration. This event will guide landholders and community members through the process of assessing, managing, and re-establishing the orchard as a reliable source of native seed for future revegetation projects.

Throughout the day, participants will:

  • Assess the current condition, species composition, and management needs of the orchard.
  • Identify priority species and planting actions to renew and strengthen seed production.
  • Build practical skills in plant identification, seed collection, handling, and planting.
  • Explore techniques for seed processing and orchard planning through guided demonstrations.

Guest presenter Martin Driver from PlainSense Vegetation Management will share practical insights on evaluating species, improving orchard diversity, and planning for sustainable restoration outcomes.

Participants will take part in a guided tour of the orchard, group discussions, and interactive demonstrations, finishing with a project evaluation to gather feedback and ideas for future conservation work.

Who should attend:
Landholders, volunteers, community groups, and anyone interested in native seed collection, ecological restoration, and supporting regional biodiversity.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
