The Murrumbidgee Field Naturalists (MFN) are calling for applications for their 2023 Environmental Fund Grants. Grants up to $5,000 will be considered to assist projects delivering the enhancement of biodiversity, conservation in general, or enhanced understanding of the natural environment within the Murrumbidgee Valley.
MFN are a local organisation with the aims of facilitating and promoting the knowledge of natural history, and to encourage the preservation and protection of the Australian natural environment, especially that of the Murrumbidgee River Valley.
MFN President, Eric Whiting, said “These grants are easy to apply for and we would encourage any group, school or individual to consider making an application. These grants could also be used to supplement an existing project.”
Successful past projects have included signage at environmental sites, tree planting and fencing projects and the production of a promotional video of the Ramsar listed Fivebough Wetland.
MFN are pleased to be able to offer these grants. Mr Whiting said “Our club members really enjoy our natural environment, and we offer these grants to enable the conservation and appreciation of it. We have field trips around Griffith, Coleambally, Leeton, Narrandera, and Wagga and anyone from these regions with a project in mind is welcome to apply.”
