Murrumbidgee Landcare’s Capacity Building project was created in conjunction with Riverina Local Land Services to facilitate interesting and relevant workshops and on-ground projects. These were aimed at increasing the capacity for natural resource management activities in the region and were designed to suit the interests and requirements of member groups in their particular region.
This was achieved by delivering numerous workshops, including seed collection and propagation, a multi-day soil boot camp, low-stress stock handling and on-ground works including paddock tree planting and establishment of habitat for Glossy Black Cockatoos.
By building involvement and awareness of environmental issues in the broader community, the capacity building project had a substantial level of interest and enthusiasm evident by a strong overall attendance.
