    Batlow: On the Bush Lookout BioBlitz

    Join us for the first-ever Batlow Bush BioBlitz, a weekend of wild discovery in Batlow’s beautiful bushland! 

    Over two days, nature lovers, families and curious locals will team up with scientists and Landcare members to explore, identify and celebrate the amazing plants and animals that call our patch home.

    From frogs croaking in Reedy Creek to birds soaring above Weemala Lookout, each activity will open your eyes to the biodiversity thriving right here in Batlow. Whether you’re keen to learn new skills, take part in citizen science, or simply enjoy a bush adventure, there’s something for everyone.

     

    On the Bush Lookout BioBlitz

    A 2-hour bioblitz at Weemala Lookout.

    Saturday 1 November 2025

    2pm - 4pm

    A leisurely stroll along the bottom of the lookout led by Bindi and Leigh we will catalogue the amazing understory along the way and talk about all things understorey.

     

    This event is a partnership between Riverina Highlands Landcare and Do It For Batlow, with the support of Murrumbidgee Landcare and the Landcare Enabling Program.

    Dusk to night time walking through the old growth trees at the base of Weemala led by Craig and his red light. Talking about all the wonderful critters that call our forests home at night.

     

    This event is a partnership between Riverina Highlands Landcare and Do It For Batlow, with the support of Murrumbidgee Landcare and the Landcare Enabling Program.

    Temora: Frog Walk for Temora Youth

    Join Temora Youth Groups Team Green for a fun and educational Frog Walk on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, from 4 pm to 5 pm at Lake Centenary, Goldfields Way.

    As part of Frog Week celebrations, this guided walk is a chance to learn about local frog species, their habitats, and how we can help protect these fascinating amphibians.

    Supported by Murrumbidgee Landcare and Temora Council, the event invites families and nature lovers to connect with the environment and discover the hidden life around the lake.

    Blooming Connections - Fishing

    Blooming Connections - Fishing
    Murrumbidgee Landcare presents Blooming Connections, a series of easy activities with a focus on nature, bringing together First Nations Elders and Senior Citizens who reside in Narrandera to build relationships and fostering good mental health and wellness.
    The activities will include morning tea and are free for First Nations people aged 50 years and over, and Senior Citizens aged 65 and over. Carers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
    All are welcome, men and women.

    Tumut: Wild & Wreathed

    Join the Riverina Highlands Landcare Network for a laid-back afternoon at the nursery, where you will craft a stunning wreath bursting with native flowers and bushy foliage. A perfect way to add a touch of wild Christmas magic to your home.

    Set in the peaceful surrounds of the Riverina Highlands Landcare Nursery in Tumut, it is truly a special spot to sit back, unwind, and connect with fellow creatives and nature lovers alike.

    Just bring along your water bottle and your festive spirit. All wreath making materials will be supplied on the day.

    Tickets are $10 for members and $25 for the public. Pay at the door with cash or card.
