    Landcare Alive at Hay Plains Landcare Nursery & Demonstration Site

    Join us every Thursday at the Hay Plains Landcare Nursery and Demonstration Site, conveniently located on the Piper Street side of the historic Hay Gaol Museum. This weekly gathering is a vibrant hub for environmental enthusiasts and community members alike, fostering a spirit of collaboration and sustainability.

    Weekly Activities:

    • Propagation and Planting: Engage in hands-on activities focused on nurturing native plants and trees.

    • Presentations: Learn from experts about best practices in environmental conservation and sustainable land management.

    • Community Engagement: Connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to local environmental initiatives.

    Special Monthly Activities:

    Each month, we host a unique event that highlights a specific aspect of environmental conservation.

    • Frog Hotels - March 13th 2025
    • Hydro-dipping & poured paint  -  April 10 2025
    • Pottery - May 22 2025
    • Folded book art - June 26 2025
    • National tree day planting - July 31 2025
    • Bush dyeing - August 28 2025
    • Propagation - September 18 2025
    • Weaving - October 23 2025
    • Watercolour painting - November 20 2025
    • Wool Nature Craft - December 18 2025

    These activities require registration: Landcare Alive Special Monthly Activities

    How to Participate:

    • When: Every Thursday

    • Time: Summer mornings (9 am-11 am) ; winter afternoons (1 pm - 3 pm)

    • What to Bring: Water bottle, enclosed shoes, and a hat

    Hay: AGM, Christmas Celebration & Historical Tree Unveiling

    Join Hay Plains Landcare on the 5th of December 2025 at 56 Lachlan Street (Riverina LLS) for the Annual General Meeting. Celebrate Hay Plains Lancare's 2025 achievements and provide direction for 2026.

     

    The AGM is followed by Christmas celebrations and the official unveiling of the Historical Stone Pine Information Sign. From 5.30pm onward at the Hay Landcare Nursery, next to the Hay Goal Museum.

    Tumut: Christmas Pot Decorating Workshop

    Get into the festive spirit with a creative morning of pot decorating at the Riverina Highlands Landcare Nursery!

    Bring your Christmas cheer and imagination. All materials are provided, and every child will head home with their very own decorated masterpiece.

    This fun, hands-on workshop will be held outdoors under the shade, so remember your hat, comfy clothes, and a drink bottle to stay cool.

    Open to kids of all ages!

    • Children under 6 will need an adult to stay and join the fun.
    • Older kids can be left to create while you tick off some last-minute Christmas prep!

    When: Monday 22 December 2025
    Time: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
    Where: 5 Gocup Road, Tumut
    Cost: $5 (to cover materials)
