David Holmgren, permaculture co-originator and author of “RetroSuburbia: The downshifter’s guide to a resilient future” has made the section of his book on bushfire resilience freely available to all, as part of their response to the bushfire crisis.
David notes: “RetroSuburbia includes 34 chapters across three fields of retrofitting action: the built, biological and behavioural. ‘Bushfire resilient design’ and ‘Household disaster planning’ are two distinct chapters in RetroSuburbia which exemplify strategies of permaculture-inspired adaption to challenging futures that simultaneously address climate change by reducing carbon emissions.”
The extract can be freely downloaded from the Holmgren Design website, which features numerous other posts on topics related to permaculture and resilience.
