A seed propagation activity was held last Thursday as part of the Blooming Connections program, which aims to connect Seniors and Elders with environmental activities. Participants from Narrandera, Leeton, and Albury attended, and the session was led by Fleur Stelling, who shared her expertise in propagation. This program is a year-long initiative funded by the NSW Government to foster connections through nature-based activities involving First Nations Elders and Senior Citizens.
Fleur Stelling is noted for her work in native plant propagation and community engagement in revegetation projects across southern NSW and North East Victoria, emphasising the protection and propagation of locally native plants. The program aligns with broader efforts to promote ecological restoration and community involvement in native seed collection and propagation, which are critical for landscape resilience and biodiversity.
