Young people from three unique townships within the Murrumbidgee Council area have created this book over the last twelve months.
Students from Darlington Point, Coleambally and Jerilderie connected with community members to increase their knowledge of their local area and build a higher level of appreciation for the place in which they live.
The youth learnt about a wide range of local, cultural and environmental champions and created the case studies in this booklet to inform the community about the amazing local assets of their town.
The booklet includes the following stories:
- Revamping and revitalising our community garden – Our community champion, by Darlington Point Public School
- Uncovering the champions of Coleambally, by St Peters Catholic Primary School Coleambally
- Billabong Yanco Columbo Forest Creek – Our community champion, by St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Jerilderie
This program was funded by the New South Wales Government and managed by Petaurus Education Group in collaboration with Murrumbidgee Landcare and a range of community groups.
