Landcare Alive at Hay Plains Landcare Nursery & Demonstration Site

Join us every Thursday at the Hay Plains Landcare Nursery and Demonstration Site, conveniently located on the Piper Street side of the historic Hay Gaol Museum. This weekly gathering is a vibrant hub for environmental enthusiasts and community members alike, fostering a spirit of collaboration and sustainability.

Weekly Activities:

  • Propagation and Planting: Engage in hands-on activities focused on nurturing native plants and trees.

  • Presentations: Learn from experts about best practices in environmental conservation and sustainable land management.

Special Monthly Activities:

Join Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc as we learn from Alison Pouliot about the Kingdom Fungi and principles of fungi identification, ecological significance, cultural aspects and their use in land restoration.

You will also have the chance to be a part of an interactive soil pit discussion with Geoff Minchin (Riverina Local Land Services), including understanding and improving soil health.

 

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Please wear appropriate field clothes & shoes, and bring drinking water.
