These short animated videos communicate complex aspects of soil health in a simple and fun way.
The series has been produced by the University of Western Australia’s Emeritus Professor Lyn Abbott and funded through the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program to support the book “Soil Biological Fertility and Climate Resilience” which is planned for release in autumn 2020. An app and ebook summary will also be released to help communicate complex aspects of the book. These will replace the current website version.
The first video provides a brief description of soil fertility, the biodiversity of soil organisms, soil as a habitat and the activity of soil biota.
The second video is titled: How do soil organisms affect soil? It describes organic matter breakdown, the nitrogen cycle, degradation of chemicals and soil aggregation.
