This excellent resource has been described as “a contemporary guide to the identification of plants within the Murrumbidgee catchment and their significance and cultural use for the Wiradjuri people.” The book aims to promote an understanding of Aboriginal cultural heritage and the uses and significance of native vegetation within the Murrumbidgee catchment.
The plants included in the book are listed with their botanical name, common name and Wiradjuri name. Traditional plant uses are shown for each species, with uses including tools, medicine, food, shelter, fire, water, fish poison, dye and ceremonial purposes.
