There are two types of Landcare Executive members in the mid-Murrumbidgee: Those that have been in the role since Landcare was incepted; and those who have been newly elected since the Local Landcare Coordinator initiative began. For both types of Landcare Executive members, the roles and responsibilities of the Executive are unclear, succession planning remains unimaginable and strategic planning is unheard of.
Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc. offered a variety of training opportunities to assist new and existing Landcare Group committee members to understand responsibilities and requirements of Executive roles, including Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, how to plan for future projects and how to write successful grants.
