2020 – 2022
Funded by the National Landcare Program ‘Smart Farms Small Grants’
Through this project, Murrumbidgee Landcare aims to support women farmers and farm partners as custodians of the land, water and life on their farms and in their communities.
We will conduct a series of eight on-farm workshops designed by and for women farmers and farm partners. The workshops will be conducted in eight locations across our region.
The workshops will each engage local women farmers and farm partners in a program of discussions, farm walks, academic insights and workshops focused on kick starting programs at a range of scales. Through the workshops, we hope to empower women to take on-farm leadership and custodian roles. We will help support participants to take on the responsible tenure of the natural resources, land, water and native species on their properties, by building understanding and confidence to take a leading role in producing healthy food from a healthy landscape.
Keen to get involved?
We’d love you to join our ‘Catchment Keepers’ Facebook Group, to share your ideas and thoughts! This group will remain in action after the workshops, allowing us to continue the conversations.
